If your driver’s license has been suspended for 60 days due to committing a traffic infraction for a moving violation on three or more occasions within a one-year period, or on four or more occasions within a two-year period, you must complete an approved safe driving course as recommended by the WA DOL prior to reinstatement of your license.

The course presents real-life driving situations, hazard recognition scenarios and defensive driving techniques. Offering adaptive, personalized content, the course was developed to help you recognize risky driving behaviors and learn the best safe driving practices to protect yourself on the road and avoid traffic infractions.
NEW STUDENTS: Click on NEW STUDENT REGISTRATION. You will be required to create your own unique Login ID and Password and to choose the course language you prefer – English or Espanol. This course includes a ‘bookmark’ feature, allowing you the flexibility to save your progress along the way, log out of and into the course at your leisure, and complete the course in multiple sittings. Make note of your Login ID and Password for this purpose.
RETURNING STUDENTS: After creating your Login ID and Password, click on RETURNING STUDENT anytime you need to log back in and continue your course from your bookmarked progress or print a copy of your completion certificate.
At the end of the course, there is a 25-question multiple choice test. You must achieve a score of 80% or better to successfully pass the safe driving course. You are allowed up to three (3) attempts to pass the test. After successfully passing the test, notification of your completion will be transmitted directly to the WA Department of Licensing (DOL) within one business day of your successful completion of the course. Please allow 7 to 10 business days for the DOL to apply your completion to your record.
